The Golden Eagles called a timeout with 5.7 seconds remaining in the game. After the timeout was over the referees took two seconds off the clock giving the Golden Eagles only 3.7 seconds to work with. The good news for the Golden Eagles was that they won. The bad news is they get to face the undefeated top ranked Rockridge Rockets in the next game of the regionals. "I kind of hoped they would send them to New York or somewhere far away from our regional," joked Hutton. "They (Rockridge) are a great team. I'll have to come up with my most creative game plan of the year. Happ gets all the credit over there but their role players have really come on."
It was a back and forth struggle throughout the first quarter with the Golden Eagles coming out on top 16-14 although Orion's Christian Allen hit a shot at the buzzer.
The second quarter was much of the same as neither team led by more than three points.
