Baker runs wild at Rockridge

Golden Eagle Kenzie Baker won the 100 and 200 meter dash and helped the Golden Eagle 4 x 100 team place first in a record setting day at the Rockridge Lady Invitational in Edgington. Baker set the meet record in the 200 meter dash with a time 26.62. The Golden Eagle 4 x 100 meter team (Carlea Kiddoo, Ellie Lower, Catelyn Hofmann and Kenzie Baker) also set a meet record in the 4 x 100 meter relay with a time of 51.67.
Erie-Prophetstown won the meet with a score of 175. Other team scores were: Mercer County, 124; Monmouth-Roseville, 94; Alleman, 84; Ridgewood, 62; Rockridge, 60; Mid County, 19 and United, 18.
Megan Reed of Ridgewood set a meet record in the triple jump with a leap of 35-11.00. The old record was set by Paige Rus in 2013, 35-01.
The Monmouth-Roseville 4 x 800 meter relay team also set a meet record with a time of 9:58.84 breaking a 2012 record set by Mercer County (Sydney Brokaw, Jenna Ortberg, Christina McKnight and Miranda Biddle) of 10.04.60.
Alleman's McKenna VanMeighem set the meet record in the pole vault with a vault of 9-07. She broke the old record set by Kali Unruh in 2012 of 8-07.
