Golden Eagles finish strong at MCGE Coed Invite

The Mercer County Girls placed first and the boys third at the 2015 MCGE Coed Invite Wednesday, April 29.
The girls finished with 157 points a good 53 points ahead of the second place Monmouth-Roseville Titans. First place finishes for Mercer County were: Emily Weeks in the 800 meter run; Carlea Kiddoo in the 100 meter hurdles; Morgan Joy in the 400 meter dash; 4 x 200 meter relay team; Kenzie Baker in the 100 and 200 meter dash; Ellie Lower in the triple jump and Joy Bowie in the pole vault;
On the boys side ROWVA won with 136 points, Rockridge placed second with 129 points and the Golden Eagles third with 111 points.
Team scores for the girls were: Mercer County, 157; Monmouth-Roseville, 104.33; Orion, 79; Rockridge, 70.33; United, 50; ROWVA, 42; Cambridge, 28; Cambridge, 28; Galva, 12 and Abingdon, .33.
Boys scores were: ROWVA, 136; Rockridge, 129; Mercer County, 111; Monmouth-Roseville, 75; Orion, 37; Cambridge, 27; Galva, 19; United, 15 and Sherrard, 6.
First place finishes for the Mercer County boys were: Adam Huffstutler in the 110 meter hurdles and Quinton King in the 100 meter dash.
