Sherrard scores 28 in doubleheader with Macomb
The Sherrard Tigers girls softball team scored 28 runs in a doubleheader against Macomb. Sherrard beat Macomb 14-0 and 14-0.
In the first game Sherrard scored five times in the first and six times in the second to put the game on ice. They added two runs in the third and one more in the fourth for the victory.
Sherrard sophomore Rebecca Patterson gave up one hit and struck out eight in five innings to earn the victory.
Freshman Alexis Ward, Ashley Parker, Patterson, Tarran Shaffer and Kayla Tatge had at least two hits a piece for the Tigers.
Kissner homered while Ward, Patterson, Shaffer and Rumler each had a triple.
Shaffer drove in three runs while Patterson and Kisner had two RBI’s apiece.
In the second game Sherrard scored five in the first and second innings to take a 10-0 lead into the third inning. The Tigers added three more runs in the third and one more in the fourth for the win.
Erika Bowers earned the win striking out seven and allowing one hit.
Parker homered for the Tigers while Ward and Shaffer added triples. Kissner doubled twice. Hornick and Tatge had one double apiece.
Sherrard improved its record to 11-1.
