Sherrard girls dominate Rock Falls, Kewanee

The Sherrard girls track team defeated Rock Falls and Kewanee in a triangular competition April 5.

Sherrard scored 93.5 points to Rock Falls, 59.5 and Kewanee’s 24.

Sherrard’s Sarah Boraas won first place in the 100-meter dash (12.53); 100 meter hurdles (15.61) and the 300 meter hurdles (49.28).

The Tigers scored 10 points in the 100-meter dash as Boraas, Jaclyn Scavuzzo and Lacey Hainline finished 1-2-3 in the event.

Tiger Lacey Hainline won first place in the 400-meter dash (60.61) and the 200 meter dash (25.69).

Sherrard won the 4 x 400 meter relay (4:41.2) but placed second to Rock Falls in the 4 x 800, the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 200.

Crystal Ponce won the 1600-meter run, (5:57.04)

The Tigers scored nine and a half points in the high jump as Kelsey Thompson (4-10) and Hannah Lavens (4-10) finished 1-2 in the event and Abbey Warner (4-8) tied for third place.
