Riverdale takes down Sherrard

Riverdale busted out on top with two runs in the first and second inning to take a 4-0 lead.

Rebecca Patterson pitched the first inning and two thirds for the Tigers but got banged around pretty good giving up four runs.

Riverdale held Sherrard scoreless until the fifth inning.

The Tigers scored three in the fifth and three more in the sixth to take a 6-4 lead into the seventh inning.

Kayla Tatge and Megan Kissner led of the fifth inning with back-to-back doubles. Karle Rumler reached on an error. Wyant then singled. Ward drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.  

Sherrard took the lead in the sixth inning. Ashley parker led off the inning with a walk and Tarran Shaffer followed with a single. Kissner then tripled to drive in two runs and would later score herself.

The Rams stepped up in the top of the seventh to score four times to retake the lead at 8-6.

Sherrard's Ashley Anderson relieved Patterson in the second inning and shut down the Rams until the seventh inning.

The Rams first two batters reached on errors and they were able to take advantage eventually scoring four runs in the inning.

The Tigers rallied in the seventh to score one run but left two runners on base when the final out came.

Patterson led off the seventh with a single. Shaffer's single scored her and brought the Tigers to within one run. Kissner added a single later in the inning

Sherrard's record fell to 12-2 following the loss.

Megan Kissner led the Tigers' attack with three hits including a double and a triple. She also drove in two runs.
