Whan sets meet records at f/S invite

Mercer County’s Sam Whan set the met records in the 1600 meter run and the 3200 meter run at the 2010 F/S Tiger Invitational April 6. The performances anchored a fourth place showing by the Golden Eagles. These were two of a number of records that were broken that day.

Whan’s time in the 1600 meter run (4:56.30) was fasters than the meet record of 5:06.90 set by Michael Hernandez in 2006.  

Whan’s time in the 3200 meter run (10:54.50) beat the 2006 record set by Timothy Hird (10:59.80).   Mercer County also earned first place finishes in the 300 meter hurdles and  United Township High School won the Sherrard High School F/S Invitational April 6.  

Team scoring for the event was United Townshhip, 176; Sherrard, 133.5; Rockridge, 123; Mercer County, 107.5; Cambridge Ridgewood Co-op, 60 and Alleman, 56.
