Mercer County Meet the Team night is Aug. 20

Meet the Team night for Mercer County High School has been scheduled for Friday, August 20, 6 p.m., at the George Pratt Memorial Field in Aledo. Meet the Team night is an opportunity for the community to meet athletes, cheerleaders, pompon squads and coaches. It's also a night of a football scrimmages.
For the 12th year, Country Bank will serve as sponsors of the event. Country Bank will be selling pork chop sandwiches and various other refreshments for spectators. Country Bank provides pork chop meals free to all of the players, cheerleaders, the pompon squad and coaches.
According to Trisha Hank, Country Bank's Marketing Director, "Meet the Team has become such a great back-to-school tradition. We feel strongly about continuing our support of a variety of school events that both the students and community enjoy."
The evening begins on the football field with introductions of the cheerleaders and pompon squads, the golf teams, the volleyball teams and the football teams. Junior varsity and varsity football scrimmages will follow on the field.
"The start of the fall sports season is an exciting time in most communities and the Mercer County school district is certainly no exceptions," says Brian Dennison, Mercer County Athletic Director. "The communities in this district have established themselves as ones with unmatched support for the young men and women that make up our athletic programs".
Following the scrimmages, the general public is invited to the high school auditorium to learn more about the "Eagles Take Flight": The George Pratt Memorial Football Field and Track Renovation Project. Learn more about the capital campaign and the renovations planned for the track, football field, bleachers, lighting, press boxes, storage sheds and perimeter fences.
So bring your family for a Friday night outing, get a pork chop, meet the teams, watch some football and then learn more about the exciting renovation project in store for the Mercer County High School athletic fields!
