Alleman tops Sherrard 46-36

The Sherrard Tigers boys basketball team defeated Alleman 46-36 on Jan. 25.

The Alleman Pioneers trailed by two points heading into the final period but managed to outscore Sherrard 17-5 to take the victory.

It was a back and fourth contest throughout the first three quarters. Alleman led 10-6 at the end of the first period as Douglas Noe and Chip Rodgers each hit a three pointer for the Pioneers. Jake Friichtenicht hit a three pointer for the Tigers to help them keep pace.

The Tigers outscored Alleman 10-8 in the second period and the Tigers railed only 18-16 at the half. Andy Anderson and Hauger had four points apiece for the Tigers in the period.

Sherrard outscored Alleman 15-11 in the third period to take a 31-29 lead into the final period. Friichtenicht scored nine points in the period to pace the Tigers.

But the Tigers could manage only one field goal in the final period and scored only five points. Alleman on the other hand scored 17 points in the period.
