Sherrard places at state
The Sherrard girls track and field team scored 13 points at state an placed 22nd overall at the Class 1A IHSA track meet in Charleston.
Byron placed first with 54 points.
Finals
Sherrard freshman Danielle Crawley placed sixth oveall in the 200 meter dash in a time of 26.18. Mackenzie Bollinger of Aurora Christian won the event in a time of 25.69.
Sherrard freshman Danielle Crawley placed seventh overall in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.74. Jena Hemann of Breese (Central) won the event setting a new record in a time of 12.02.
Sherrard’s 4 x 100 meter relay team (Allie Munday, Katie Kirwan, Madison Kissner and Danielle Crawley) reached the finals and placed eighth overall with a time of 50.55. Walther Lutheran placed first in the event in a time of 48.73.
Sherrard’s Jaclyn Scavuzzo reached the final in the pole vault placing 11th reaching a height of 10-00. Alyssa Applebee of Seneca placed first in the event setting a new state record reaching the height of 12-09.00.
Mercer County junior Dylane Riddell reached the finals in the discus placing 11th with a throw of 116-09. Kelsey Card of Carlinville won the event with a throw of 164-08.
Sherrard freshmen Robbie Ann Hoye placed sixth in the 3200 meter run in a time of 11:17.84. Miranda Biddle of Mercer County placed 16th overall, 11:53.39. Kristen Busch of Freeburg won the event, 11:05.39.
State qualifiers
Allie Munday qualified for state in pole vault but didn’t make it to the finals. She reached 9-06 in the preliminaries and needed to reach 10-00 to make it to the finals.
Sherrard sophomore Hannah Lavens qualified for state in the high jump but couldn’t make it out of the preliminaries reaching only 4-11. She needed to reach 5-01 to make it to the finals.
Rockridge junior Daisy Bower placed first in her flight in the triple jump with a leap of 33-05.75 but it wasn’t enough to advance to the finals.
Rockridge freshman Devin Hasson placed third in her preliminary heat in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.58 just missing a trip to the finals.
Rockridge’s 4 x 200 meter relay team (Taylor Cullen, Chelsea McManus, Bre Lawless and Devin Hasson) placed sixth in its heat with a time of 1:51.54 and missed a trip to the finals.
Sherrard’s 4 x 200 meter relay team (Allie Munday, Katie Kirwan, Madison Kissner and Danielle Crawley) placed third in its heat in a time of 1:47.31 but failed to make it to the finals.
Rockridge’s Devin Hasson placed third in her heat in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.78 but just missed the finals.
Robbie Ann Hoy of Sherrard placed seventh in her heat in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:19.45.
Miranda Biddle placed seventh in her head in the 1600 meter run in a time of 5:31.97 but didn’t qualify for the finals.
Sherrard’s 4 x 400 meter relay team (Madison Kissner, Allie Munday, Kayla Viager and Katie Kirwan) placed sixth in a time of 4:23.57 in its heat but did not qualify for the finals.
