Rockets placed second in competitive cheer at state

On Saturday, February 2, the Rockridge Compeltitive Cheerleading team competed in the final round of 10 teams at the IHSA State Finals in Bloomington. After all performances were complete the Rockets placed second nt hems all school division and took home the IHSA State Runner-up trophy. Dwight High School won the championship by two tenths of a point.

To honor and recognize the Rockridge Competitive cheerleaders and their accomplishments there will be an all-school and community pep rally and welcome home this Monday, Feb. 4 at 2:45 p.m in the South Gym of the Rockridge High School.

This marks the firt IHSA trophy earned by the competitive cheerleaders. Their highest previous finish was in 2008 when they finished in fifth place. The last trophy earned by Rockridge High School was in 2007 when the softball team finished in third place.
